Chargers Remain Only Winless Team as NFL Enters Week 8
The Los Angeles Chargers stand alone at the bottom of the league standings, while fantasy analysts debate the viability of key players facing elite defensive units.

The Los Angeles Chargers are the only team in the National Football League to have lost every game this season. The squad received a bye week in Week 7 to regroup, a break that other teams did not enjoy as the league’s competitive landscape shifted. The Miami Dolphins broke their losing streak during that same week, a result that highlighted the disparity in performance across the league.
The Kansas City Chiefs lost their unbeaten status against the Seattle Seahawks. The defense stifled the Kansas City offense, limiting them to three points. Running back Kenneth Walker III, known by his nickname K9, rushed 14 times for 36 yards. This output was a sharp decline from his previous weeks. Walker recorded 9.7 fantasy points, marking his lowest performance of the season. The Chiefs lost to a team that has not dropped a game since the start of the campaign.
The San Francisco 49ers also lost their perfect record, falling to the Atlanta Falcons. Quarterback Brock Purdy threw two interceptions, one of which occurred near the end of the game when the 49ers had a chance to win. Atlanta quarterback Michael Penix Jr. finished with 20.4 fantasy points, ranking eighth among quarterbacks in the league. The Falcons forced multiple turnovers, including fumbles on consecutive plays. Star running back Christian McCaffrey left the game to visit the medical tent, raising concerns about his availability.
Fantasy analysts recommend starting Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers against the New York Jets. Bowers has the second-most receiving yards among tight ends in the league. He has played two fewer games than the league leader, Trey McBride. The Jets possess the third-best passing offense in the league. Defensive end David Bailey, the Jets' sack leader, is listed as doubtful for the game. Bowers averages 19.1 fantasy points per game.
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson is advised as a start against the Detroit Lions. The Lions have the 31st-ranked passing defense, allowing 291.8 yards per game. Losses in the secondary have weakened the unit. Jefferson has had a slow start to the season by his standards. A matchup against a depleted defense offers an opportunity for him to improve his production.
Analysts suggest sitting Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff against the Minnesota Vikings. Goff has thrown 14 touchdowns and no interceptions this season. The Vikings boast the best defense in the league. They have allowed fewer than 1,000 passing yards in total, averaging 155 yards per game. The Vikings lead the league in turnover differential with seven more forced turnovers than allowed. Defensive coordinator Brian Flores has a unit that may force Goff into difficult throws.
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor is recommended for the bench against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars have the best run defense in the league in terms of yardage allowed. The Colts lost All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson in a trade to the Seahawks. The team also traded DeForest Buckner to the 49ers. The Jaguars have recorded only 11 sacks this season. Taylor’s production is expected to drop against the strong defensive front.
