The SportsLine Projection Model identified two specific player props as the top betting opportunities for the 12-game NBA slate on Wednesday, Oct. 28. The model simulates every game 10,000 times to generate these projections. It currently holds a 26-10 record on top-rated spread picks dating back to the previous season.
LeBron James is the first of the two recommended plays. The model projects the 76ers forward for 36.1 points, rebounds, and assists combined. The market line for James to go over 30.5 in that category sits at odds of -117. He has already exceeded that total in two of his four games this season.
Injury reports favor James on Wednesday. The Pacers will be without center Ivica Zubac. Point guards Tyrese Haliburton and Andrew Nembhard are both listed as questionable. This absence of key defenders could give James more space to operate in the offense.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the second top pick from the model. The Thunder guard is projected for a massive 59.7 in points, rebounds, and assists combined. The over line for his total is set at 42.5, also at odds of -117. He faces the Dallas Mavericks in a nationally televised game.
The Thunder are dealing with a significant wave of absences that increases Gilgeous-Alexander's workload. Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace are out due to injuries sustained earlier in the week. Alex Caruso, Chet Holmgren, and Thomas Sorber are also expected to sit out against Dallas.
The SportsLine model has returned nearly $19,000 in profit for a $100 player on its top-rated NBA picks since 2018. It has produced four-digit profits in each of the last five seasons. The 2026-27 season is currently in Week 2, with these two games serving as the primary focus for bettors using the model's data.
