TRA Group, Inc. operates in White Plains to assist older adults and individuals with low vision in accessing medical care. The organization coordinates free, volunteer-driven transportation and connects clients with community resources to support their independence.
From 2013 through June 2026, TRA provided more than 53,000 rides. The service relied on a network of volunteers and community partners to bridge the gap between healthcare needs and transportation access for clients in the region.
The organization completed an 18-month review process that resulted in national accreditation from Inform USA. Inform USA is a membership and standard-setting organization for community navigation and information and referral services. The accreditation recognizes TRA’s standards for quality information, service delivery, and community partnerships.
TRA expanded its operations in 2025 and 2026 to fill gaps left by the closure of other local programs. The group took on riders from RideConnect and New Rochelle Cares in 2025. In 2026, it absorbed the client base of F.I.S.H. Hastings-on-Hudson. These transitions required TRA to manage a substantial increase in demand while integrating new volunteers.
The organization will hold its 15th anniversary celebration on Saturday, November 7. The event, titled “15 Who Paved the Way,” is scheduled from noon to 3 p.m. at the Mansion on Broadway at 139 N. Broadway. The gathering will honor 15 founders, leaders, and advocates who established the organization’s mission.
Tickets and raffle entries are currently available for the event. A raffle offers a seven-night stay for up to four people in a villa in Tuscany, Italy. The prize covers accommodations but excludes airfare and food. Sponsorship and advertising opportunities are also listed on the organization’s website, my-tra.org.
