Justin Timberlake is preparing to release a four-part docuseries on Apple TV in December. Three sources confirmed the project to Variety, describing the work as a tell-all series that will explore the pop star’s career and personal life.
One source stated that Janet Jackson will appear in the series to discuss the wardrobe malfunction that occurred during the pair’s performance at the 2004 Super Bowl. Another source said Timberlake will address some of Britney Spears’ recent comments. Fisher Stevens is directing the project.
Reps for Timberlake, Jackson, and Apple did not respond to multiple requests for comment. Further details about the series were not available at the time of publication.
Timberlake has worked with Apple since 2021, when he starred in the streamer’s original film Palmer. The announcement arrives during a period of lower public visibility for the singer. He made a guest appearance at Jay-Z’s concert in Paris last month but has remained off the radar since his Forget Tomorrow global tour.
The tour supported Everything I Thought It Was, his most recent album, which came out in March 2024. Timberlake announced in July 2025 that he was diagnosed with Lyme disease. He said the condition affected some of his performances on the international leg of the tour, causing nerve damage and fatigue.
In a statement, Timberlake wrote that he was battling health issues and wanted to shed light on what he had been up against behind the scenes. He noted that living with the disease can be relentlessly debilitating both mentally and physically. The tour wrapped in July 2025.
The DWI conviction stemming from his June 2024 arrest in Sag Harbor, New York, also complicated the tour. Police pulled him over after he ran a stop sign and veered out of his lane. Page Six previously reported that Timberlake told officers the incident would ruin the tour, though bodycam footage released later showed him saying he was on tour.
